Yang Yoon-ah, CEO of Vegan Tiger, said in an interview with Asia Economy on the 18th, "Vegan Tiger excludes all animal-derived materials and uses sustainable alternative materials to create fashion products that align with current trends."


Vegan Tiger started in 2015 through the global e-commerce platform Cafe24. When it first launched, the concept of veganism was very unfamiliar. Unlike vegetarianism, which was somewhat known, raising awareness of the need for veganism in the fashion industry was a challenging task.


CEO Yang explained, "While continuously developing vegan material clothing, we held festivals twice a year to promote vegan culture applicable to overall lifestyles, striving to change perceptions. As a result, word of mouth spread mainly through social media, and celebrities such as model Jang Yoon-joo and singer Sunmi began seeking out Vegan Tiger's clothes." The tiger shirt worn by Yoo Jae-suk in his role as 'Jimmy Yoo' on the variety show 'Hangout with Yoo' Refund Expedition team is also from Vegan Tiger.


Currently, Vegan Tiger's main customers are the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). Among buyers, 60% are aged 19 to 35, and those aged 35 to 45 account for about 20%. CEO Yang stated, "For value-driven brands, managing the official online store well is important. Customers who visit the official store usually have a strong affection for the brand. By freely adjusting the store’s categories and design to match the brand and campaign tendencies, the brand image can be effectively expressed."


Vegan Tiger is aiming to enter overseas markets through trendy vegan fashion. CEO Yang emphasized, "It's not about choosing vegan fashion because of environmental concerns, but the value lies in converting people who already love fashion. It's not that wearing fur is bad, but we will reduce fur consumption by creating and presenting better products using alternative materials."
