Shinsegae Duty Free announced on the 15th an enhanced membership program that establishes a membership partnership with Shinsegae Department Store, allowing VIP members to receive cross-benefits targeted at department store VIPs.
Through the new membership program, Shinsegae Duty Free VIP and BLACK grade members will also receive the benefits of the Shinsegae Department Store VIP Club.
Duty free VIP members will receive benefits available to Shinsegae Department Store BLACK members, including ▲a department store mileage of 7% with a limit of 2 million KRW ▲one-time daily use ticket for the department store takeout cafe Members Bar or Members Bar The Black ▲and a free 3-hour parking ticket.
Duty free BLACK members will receive benefits corresponding to the department store RED members, including ▲a department store mileage of 7% with a limit of 1 million KRW ▲10 monthly use tickets for Members Bar ▲and a free 3-hour parking ticket. These benefits are valid until the end of January 2023 and can be applied for by visiting the Point Center located at all Shinsegae Department Store branches.
Duty free membership is granted when VIP members accumulate 6,000 points and BLACK members accumulate 4,000 points. Points are calculated based on purchase amounts, with 1 point per 1 USD for online purchases and 2 points per 1 USD for offline purchases.
Meanwhile, Shinsegae Department Store VIP members are granted Shinsegae Duty Free VIP membership benefits.
Trinity and Diamond members of Shinsegae Department Store are assigned the VIP grade at Shinsegae Duty Free, and quarterly events are held to provide Some Money usable at all branches. Platinum, Gold, and Black members of the department store are granted the BLACK grade at the duty free shop, allowing them to enjoy various duty free shopping benefits as well.
The program for Shinsegae Duty Free membership members has also been strengthened.
Duty free VIP members receive up to a 20% discount when purchasing products at Shinsegae Duty Free online and offline stores, and when purchasing over 100 USD, they receive Some Money usable at all offline stores once per quarter, 50,000 KRW each time, up to a maximum of 200,000 KRW. Additionally, VIP members who consent to marketing communications on the official Shinsegae Duty Free online mall receive Starbucks gifticons once each in the first and second halves of the year, along with various other benefits such as priority delivery service at Incheon Airport.
A Shinsegae Duty Free official stated, “We expect to provide a higher quality shopping experience to more customers through this membership partnership,” and added, “Shinsegae Duty Free will continue to strive to improve customer satisfaction.”
Meanwhile, the VIP grade of Shinsegae Duty Free will be extended until this year according to the 2022 membership grade maintenance policy announced in June last year. Members can check their membership grade on the My Page section of the online mall.
