Record High Budget Allocated for Electric Vehicles
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Sangju City, Gyeongbuk announced on the 14th that "this year, with a budget of 5.9 billion KRW, it will distribute 447 electric vehicles, an increase of 182 vehicles compared to 265 vehicles last year."
The supported vehicle types are electric vehicles eligible for subsidies from the Ministry of Environment, consisting of 214 electric passenger cars, 161 electric cargo vehicles, and 72 electric two-wheelers.
Purchase subsidies are provided up to 13 million KRW, 23.83 million KRW, and 1.8 million KRW respectively, and this program was established to promote carbon neutrality and create a clean environment in the region.
Applications can be made online by vehicle buyers who have signed a purchase contract with automobile dealers or manufacturers.
The application period starts from the 15th, and eligibility requires applicants to be citizens or corporations aged 18 or older with a residence in Sangju City for at least three months as of the day before the application submission date.
Mayor Kang Young-seok of Sangju said, "With the opening of the Oedap hydrogen charging station and the completion of the Bukcheon Riverside ultra-fast electric charging mega station (200 kW class, 15 units) by next year, inconveniences for citizens using eco-friendly vehicles will be reduced," adding, "We will continue to build charging infrastructure going forward."
