Kim Dae-sik, the newly appointed president of Gyeongnam Information University, is delivering his inaugural address.

The inauguration ceremony, held both on-site at the university's Future Hall and via live YouTube broadcast, was attended by internal and external guests, faculty members, and student representatives.
Newly appointed President Kim Dae-sik graduated from Gyeongnam Information University and earned his Ph.D. in Literature from Hanyang University and Otani University in Kyoto, Japan.
After obtaining his degrees, he joined Gyeongnam Information University as a professor, and later served as a professor at Dongseo University, president of the Korean Association of Japanese Language and Literature, secretary-general of the National Unification Advisory Council, vice chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, and vice president for external cooperation at Dongseo University.
In his inaugural speech, President Kim stated, "As the tide of the times changes, the traditional methods cannot lead the future," and added, "We will reform and innovate Gyeongnam Information University into South Korea's 'only and totally different' specialized college by actively applying new educational programs that reflect the changes of the era."
On the day, President Kim proposed a major transformation toward 'NEW KIT,' embodying a clear and achievable future vision.
He presented new policy visions including ▲ fostering a healthy organizational culture ▲ streamlining the university headquarters organization ▲ enhancing authority of department heads responsible for policy implementation ▲ establishing a performance reward system ▲ operating a communication channel for faculty and staff called 'Tuesday's talk' ▲ raising 10 billion KRW for the Dongseo Academy development fund during his term ▲ signing agreements with 100 companies to expand customized education ▲ efforts to attract students for adult learning programs ▲ strengthening exchanges with overseas universities and companies ▲ and tracing alumni roots.
