Prinker Korea Unveils 'Prinker M' at CES 2022 "Using Vegan Cosmetic Ingredient Ink"

Prinker Korea Co., Ltd. unveiled its new product, ‘Prinker M,’ which uses vegan cosmetic ingredient ink, at CES 2022.

Recently, tattoos have been developing into a new beauty culture as a means of expressing individuality, especially among the MZ generation who value ‘my preference.’ Prinker Korea Co., Ltd. anticipated this market trend early and developed a compact digital tattoo printer.

After spinning off from Samsung Electronics’ in-house venture in 2015, Prinker Korea implemented the tattoo printer concept and confirmed its market potential by offering temporary tattoo printing services to tens of thousands of visitors at Samsung’s promotional booth during the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Subsequently, in the second half of 2018, the company successfully commercialized the first-generation model, ‘Prinker PRO.’ The upgraded model ‘Prinker S,’ released in 2020, gained tremendous popularity in the North American and European markets, recording sales of approximately 2 million USD despite the COVID-19 pandemic. This model allows anyone, regardless of age or gender, to quickly and easily imprint desired tattoo designs in an instant.

Unlike traditional tattoos, which are semi-permanent and painful, Prinker offers a safe way to enjoy and erase tattoos, appealing not only to those who want to express their individuality with new tattoos every day but also to corporate clients seeking innovative brand promotion.

In January this year, at the world’s largest electronics show CES 2022, Prinker launched the 169g compact tattoo printer ‘Prinker M.’ The new mini tattoo series product, Prinker M, enhances portability with a smaller and more compact size and is positioned as an affordable mobile tattoo printer, making it more accessible to general consumers than previous models.

Additionally, the tattoo ink used by Prinker is made from vegan cosmetic ingredients that meet the safety standards of the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and is registered as a cosmetic with the U.S. FDA and the European CPNP. Unlike low-quality dyes, it is based on high-grade cosmetic pigments used in color makeup, characterized by strong water resistance and durability.

The Prinker dedicated application offers free access to tens of thousands of tattoo designs, including blackwork, mandala, old school, and new school styles. Among these are high-quality designs created in collaboration with numerous artists such as tattoo artists, graffiti writers, calligraphers, webtoon artists, and fine artists, which have received enthusiastic responses from users. Users can also create their own tattoos through drawing, typing, or image uploads.

As this domestic startup pioneers a completely new concept and product with the “mini temporary tattoo printer” in the emerging global beauty tech market, recent announcements from major domestic cosmetics companies about developing and launching similar concept products suggest that this market is expected to grow rapidly.
