ResearchAlum "We will grow into a research firm recognized overseas by recruiting more analysts"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Independent research firm Research Alom is planning a large-scale recruitment of current and former analysts. This investment aims to provide various research materials for individual investors.

Choi Seonghwan, co-CEO of Research Alom, recently stated in a letter titled "To Senior and Junior Analysts" that "Since COVID-19, the securities industry has undergone significant changes, with the Investment Banking (IB) departments, including Initial Public Offerings (IPO), becoming profit centers," adding, "The status of research centers has declined compared to the past."

He continued, "As time goes by, analysts' workloads are increasing," explaining, "In addition to preparing traditional analysis reports, analysts are taking on various roles such as customer management through SNS and appearing on YouTube."

Furthermore, he noted, "There is a deepening exodus of analysts from research centers," adding, "Many securities research centers consist of center heads with over 15 years of experience and new employees with less than 3 years."

Research Alom has grown as an independent research firm since publishing analysis reports in 2016. Starting this year, Research Alom has been publishing analysis reports not only on listed companies but also on unlisted companies. By steadily expanding into areas that traditional securities research centers cannot cover, it has received favorable reviews among individual investors.

CEO Choi said, "Since founding the company, I have led the provision of paid research with the belief that reports analyzed by analysts should be properly evaluated," adding, "I want to create significant change together with capable senior and junior analysts."

He explained, "We will ensure that time is not wasted on unproductive tasks during daily commutes," describing the role as "to prepare and provide 2 to 3 in-depth reports per month." He added, "The specific industry covered is not important," emphasizing, "We will focus on providing investors with accurate information based on clear judgment and investment philosophy."

CEO Choi introduced this work system as the "Lifetime Professional Analyst System." He expressed his ambition, saying, "Research Alom aims to recruit professional analysts and grow into a research firm recognized not only domestically but also internationally."
