DL Pharm Benefits from Expansion of Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Market

DL Pharm operates as a key partner for major domestic vaccine manufacturers and runs a cold chain center for influenza vaccine injections. Beyond being a simple distributor, it also operates an online mall dedicated to pharmaceuticals targeting secondary pharmaceutical wholesalers.


Donghyun Lee, Senior Researcher at ResearchAlum, explained, "The global cold chain logistics market grew to $16.7 billion in 2020," adding, "Cold chain logistics in the biopharmaceutical market is growing at over 8% annually."


He continued, "With the enforcement of the revised Pharmaceutical Act domestically, the need for cold chain pharmaceutical logistics services is increasing," and added, "Demand for cold chain platform services will rise from small and medium-sized distributors who find it difficult to establish cold chain infrastructure."


The senior researcher introduced, "DL Pharm was recently selected as a vaccine procurement supplier for the Ministry of National Defense with a contract worth 5 billion KRW," and explained, "The Ministry of National Defense is conducting preventive vaccinations for all soldiers against hepatitis A, meningococcus, and influenza."


He emphasized, "Since December last year, they have started procuring vaccines such as tetanus, diphtheria, and meningococcus," and stressed, "Additional vaccine procurement contracts are also anticipated."
