Timon CEO Personally Created the 'Tongtong' Bouncing Tinybus

CEO Jang Yun-seok Launches Exclusive Community Immediately
Active in Auctions and In-house Welfare Petitions

Timon CEO Personally Created the 'Tongtong' Bouncing Tinybus Jang Yoon-seok, CEO of TMON

#.‘5900 won’, ‘6000 won!’ The price rises by the second as the silent bidding war continues. The competition is fierce until the clock strikes 12 noon. With the operator’s announcement of the winning bidder, the comment section, which resembled a marketplace, quickly falls silent. This is the auction scene in TMON’s internal community, ‘Tinyverse’.

From auctions to casual chats, serious ideas, and petitions for employee welfare, Tinyverse facilitates lively communication comparable to any popular community, playing a role in transforming TMON’s corporate culture. Although it has been less than a year since its creation, it has established itself as a community where employees actively participate.

Tinyverse was created by CEO Jang Yoon-seok himself. In June last year, upon his appointment as CEO of TMON, Jang unveiled a page. It was an exclusive community for employees that he personally developed up until the day before starting work. Although incomplete, it had features that allowed free conversation. Shortly after his appointment, CEO Jang began communicating with employees by posting on this community. He then enhanced its completeness by adding categories one by one, such as the petition board, chat board, idea incubator, and Mondle Market, shaping it into its current form.

The reason CEO Jang personally created the community lies in the need for ‘free communication.’ In the increasingly heated competition environment of the e-commerce market, he believes that innovation in work culture through communication is essential to achieve ‘E-commerce 3.0,’ a strategy proposed for TMON’s survival and leap forward.

CEO Jang attempts communication in various forms not only with employees but also with customers and partners, including Tinyverse. He shares his thoughts and replies on Tinyverse and also sends company-wide emails to employees.

Recently, his most favored method is ‘live broadcasting.’ In fact, upon his appointment, he held a company-wide town hall meeting via live broadcast to meet with employees. In September last year, through the live commerce service TVON, he invited customers and partners to a live broadcast to announce TMON’s vision of E-commerce 3.0. At the recent New Year town hall meeting conducted via live broadcast, he announced ‘Remote & Smart Work,’ allowing employees to work according to their personal work styles and situations without being restricted by location. CEO Jang plans to continue hosting live broadcasts open to anyone in addition to regular town hall meetings.

A TMON official explained, "The foundation for all employees to proactively make decisions for partners and have quick execution starts with free communication," adding, "We are moving away from the ‘top-down’ approach, abolishing unnecessary rules and regulations, and creating an environment where employees can autonomously consider and focus on delivering the best results for customers and partners."
