Fair tourism refers to sustainable tourism that respects the lives and cultures of local residents, conserves the natural environment, and engages in fair trade within the relationships among tourists, local residents, tourism businesses, and the natural environment.
Also called responsible travel, fair tourism is based on ethics and human rights that consider the travel destination and local residents, respects and protects the economy, environment, and culture of the travel destination, and focuses on fair wages and the long-term benefits of the region.
This fair tourism education program will be conducted over a total of 6 weeks from February 24 to March 31, every Thursday.
The recruitment is for up to 30 people, and cooperatives, corporations, village enterprises, cooperative corporations, and private companies located in Ulju-gun can participate, but individuals are restricted.
The education consists of theoretical education, practical training, and field trips to advanced fair tourism areas, and applicants must fill out the application form announced on the county website and submit it by email.
The county plans to select participants based on their willingness, passion, and sincerity, and stated that after the education, they are preparing a fair tourism contest and will continuously support fair tourism-related projects.
A county official said, “We will expand understanding and the base of fair tourism, activate Ulju-type fair tourism projects led and participated in by local residents, and help revitalize the local economy and create jobs.”
