[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Jang Ye-chan, head of the Youth Headquarters of the People Power Party's Election Countermeasures Headquarters, fiercely criticized Kim Hye-kyung, spouse of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate, over the controversies of 'imperial protocol' and 'private use of corporate cards,' calling her "Kim Hye-kyung, the queen of household management who makes public officials engage in card fraud to save on Korean beef sirloin prices and pays with Gyeonggi Province's corporate card."

On the 3rd, Jang Ye-chan posted on his Facebook, saying, "A thrifty party for the common people, indeed the Democratic Party of Korea," directly targeting the ruling party.

Jang said, "Minister Hwang Hee, the thrifty minister who sent his daughter to an expensive foreign school with tuition fees worth tens of millions of won and lived on 600,000 won a month with his family; Representative Kim Doo-kwan, who declared assets of 100 million won but sent his son to study in expensive England; and former Presidential Secretary Im Jong-seok, a doting father who respects his daughter's taste for luxury goods despite retiring from politics," sarcastically adding, "Such tearfully frugal household management. Democratic Party politicians are amazing."

In another post the previous day, Jang said, "Happy New Year for a common-sense Republic of Korea." He added, "I hope the new year will be one that creates a Korea without abuse of power," and said, "I hope the new year will be one where Kim Hye-kyung, who used her husband Lee Jae-myung's power to engage in all sorts of abuses such as running errands for underwear, delivering white kimchi, proxy prescriptions, and proxy discharge procedures, apologizes to the victims."

Jang continued, "I hope the new year will be one where young people, public officials, and office workers in Korea do not suffer from abuse of power. I hope the new year will be one where everyone takes care of their own underwear organization and white kimchi delivery."

Meanwhile, Kim recently became embroiled in allegations of 'excessive protocol' during Lee's tenure as governor of Gyeonggi Province, involving mobilizing public officials for private tasks such as proxy prescriptions and proxy discharge procedures. A former level 7 special secretary A claimed that Bae, a level 5 official in the General Affairs Division of Gyeonggi Provincial Office, unjustly ordered proxy prescriptions, receipt of medicine, and food delivery for Kim.

Subsequently, allegations arose that Kim used the corporate card of the Gyeonggi Provincial Secretary's Office for private purposes. It is suspected that Kim's escort team circumvented related accounting regulations by prepaying with personal cards and then canceling and recharging with corporate cards, among other illicit methods.
