[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced on the 3rd that it signed a written investment agreement worth 47.6 billion KRW by attracting seven companies including electric mobility and construction materials in cooperation with five cities and counties including Mokpo.
Once the investment is completed, it is expected to create 138 new jobs in Mokpo, Naju, Gwangyang, Jangheung, and Yeongam.
Daekyung Chemical Co., Ltd., investing 4.9 billion KRW in the Mokpo Daeyang Industrial Complex, will establish a styrofoam manufacturing plant to supply local construction sites and insulation panel manufacturing plants.
Lowell SM Co., Ltd. will invest 5.2 billion KRW in the Naju Innovation Industrial Complex to establish a circuit manufacturing plant producing medium and small motors and controllers for electric carts.
Day & Bio Co., Ltd. will invest 7.3 billion KRW in the Jangheung Bio Industrial Complex to expand a health functional food manufacturing plant using natural foods.
Vinsen Co., Ltd. will invest 3.2 billion KRW in the Yeongam Daebul Industrial Complex to expand an electric propulsion boat production plant equipped with hydrogen fuel cells.
In Gwangyang, three companies will invest 27 billion KRW. Jeonyeong RGO Co., Ltd. will invest 18 billion KRW in the Gwangyang Chonam 2 Industrial Complex to establish a plant that produces recycled oil by decomposing waste vinyl and waste plastic using eco-friendly technology.
Changpo Technology Co., Ltd. will invest 6 billion KRW in the Chonam 2 Industrial Complex to establish a plant producing eco-friendly asphalt for special purposes and supply products to GS Caltex.
Cheongho System Co., Ltd. will invest 3 billion KRW in the Gwangyang Singeum Industrial Complex to build a new panel processing plant equipped with an automatic precision control system.
A Jeonnam Province official said, “Attracting companies within the province is very important to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will cooperate with cities, counties, and related organizations to lead new investments within the province to create jobs and added value.”
Meanwhile, despite difficulties due to COVID-19 last year, Jeonnam Province signed investment agreements with 210 companies worth 6.1 trillion KRW.
