Kookmin University (President Lim Hong-jae) LINC+ Project Group announced that from January 17 to 21, it successfully conducted the 'Drone Manufacturing Expert Training' for undergraduate students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Automotive Engineering at Kookmin University.
This training is one of the specialized education programs presented by Kookmin University LINC+ Project Group to cultivate talent for the 4th Industrial Revolution. It combined theoretical and practical education on the latest drone design and manufacturing techniques necessary for future Urban Air Mobility (UAM) development, as well as flight performance measurement and control technologies.
Professor Park Chun-bae from Inha University’s Department of Aerospace Engineering, Professor Kim Tae-woo from Kookmin University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering (Convergence Mechanical Engineering major), and Professor Yoon Yong-hyun, Director of Kookmin University Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology Research Center, conducted theoretical and practical education on drone performance measurement using various sensors, future UAM design development and performance analysis, and unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturing. Patent attorney Kim Seung-hwan from Nam & Nam Patent Corporation held a special lecture on drone patent strategies, providing an opportunity for communication with the students.
Park Chan-ryang, Vice President for Industry-Academia Research at Kookmin University (Director of LINC+ Project Group), said, “We hope this training served as a foundation for our students to grow into drone manufacturing experts.” He added, “Kookmin University plans to expand the cultivation of specialized talent in the mobility industry that creates demand by converging with various industries such as finance, subscription economy, and IT solutions, as well as the future automotive industry, in line with the government’s Korean Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM) roadmap.”
