Product Launch by Small and Strong Companies Based on Customer Insights
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheolhyun] Coupang announced on the 3rd that it will conduct the 'Daily Beauty Essentials Made by My Own Hands' campaign. This campaign is a collaboration between Coupang and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enable SMEs to launch products reflecting Coupang's customer insights.
To select the products most desired by customers, Coupang will hold a customer preference vote from today until the 13th. The candidate products for the customer preference vote were selected through data analysis by the 'Coupang Beauty Data Lab.' Products chosen by customers through the vote will be launched by SMEs collaborating with Coupang and sold on Coupang.
The first product of the campaign is cotton pads. A representative from Coupang Beauty Data Lab explained the selection reason, saying, "Cotton pads are suitable for this campaign because they have high accessibility as new products while customer satisfaction with existing products is relatively low." Among the three types selected by Coupang Beauty Data Lab, the final candidate for launch will be decided through voting, and the product will be manufactured by Shin Sedae, a beauty accessory specialist company. The product will start limited quantity pre-order sales on Coupang from the 17th of this month and will be shipped starting in March.
Shin Sedae is a small and medium-sized company highly regarded for its excellent quality and production capacity, and it is expected to enhance customer satisfaction by participating in this campaign. Lee Byunghee, Vice President of Coupang Retail, said, "We planned this campaign to sell products that are essential to consumers by analyzing beauty customers' consumption patterns for a year through Coupang Beauty Data Lab," adding, "We hope customers experience a new way of shopping by voting for and purchasing the products they want."
