[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] On the 28th, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 14,472 as of 9 PM.
According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 9 PM on that day, a total of 14,472 people tested positive for COVID-19 across 17 cities and provinces nationwide.
This figure is 2,062 higher than the previous record of 12,410 cases at the same time on the 26th.
New confirmed cases on that day were 9,676 in the metropolitan area and 4,796 in non-metropolitan areas, with confirmed cases reported in all 17 cities and provinces.
By region, the numbers are as follows: Gyeonggi 4,347, Seoul 3,975, Incheon 1,354, Daegu 880, Busan 777, Gyeongbuk 590, Jeonbuk 476, Chungnam 425, Gwangju 404, Daejeon 371, Jeonnam 314, Gyeongnam 210, Gangwon 207, Ulsan 201, Chungbuk 124, Jeju 76, and Sejong 41.
