[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Hana Financial Group held a Chairman Candidate Recommendation Committee meeting on the 28th and selected Vice Chairman Ham Young-joo of Hana Financial Group, President Park Sung-ho of Hana Bank, President Yoon Kyu-sun of Hana Capital, former Bain & Company Korea CEO Lee Sung-yong, and former Korea Investment Corporation President Choi Hee-nam as the final candidates for the next chairman of Hana Financial Group.
The committee announced that, according to the 'CEO Chairman Succession Plan and Candidate Recommendation Procedure,' it conducted a fair and transparent review and narrowed down the final candidate pool for the Hana Financial Group chairman succession to five people: three internal candidates and two external candidates. Earlier in January, the committee had selected a pool of 11 candidates (six internal and five external).
On this day, the committee explained that in selecting the final candidates, they chose individuals best suited to lead Hana Financial Group’s growth steadily during a time of change and challenges where the boundaries of the financial industry are breaking down, while driving the group’s core strategies such as digital transformation, globalization, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
The committee conducted in-depth discussions and multi-faceted evaluations of candidates from various fields according to the candidate recommendation procedure, and plans to select the new chairman to lead Hana Financial Group through presentations and in-depth interviews with the final candidates.
