Mokpo City Temporarily Allows Private Gatherings of 6 People Instead of 4 During Lunar New Year Holiday

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] On the 28th, Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do announced that, following the change in Jeollanam-do's social distancing administrative order, the limit on the number of private gathering participants will be temporarily changed from 4 to 6 people until the 6th of next month.

Jeollanam-do had limited private gatherings to 4 people in four cities and counties including Mokpo, Yeongam, Naju, and Muan, but decided this due to concerns about confusion caused by differences with other regions (6 people) during the Lunar New Year holiday period.

The city will maintain COVID-19 prevention measures during the holiday period and make all-out efforts to prevent the spread.

Meanwhile, the city will provide a total of 464 million KRW in compensation for losses to entertainment facilities (443 locations) and bathhouses (42 locations) that voluntarily closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

At the beginning of this month, as COVID-19 rapidly spread through entertainment establishments and bathhouses, entertainment facilities voluntarily closed from the 8th to the 14th, and bathhouses from the 6th to the 10th.
