Bentley Motors Announces 'Beyond100 Acceleration' Strategy: "Launching 5 Electric Vehicle Models Starting 2025"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Bentley Motors announced on the 28th that it will invest ?2.5 billion (approximately 4.0382 trillion KRW) over the next 10 years, including launching electric vehicle models annually from 2025, to solidify its position as a benchmark in luxury mobility.

Bentley Motors unveiled its ‘Beyond 100 Acceleration’ strategy. To realize this, it plans to invest ?2.5 billion in sustainable mobility over the next decade. Alongside this, Bentley’s first electric vehicle will be designed, developed, and produced at its UK Crewe headquarters starting in 2025.

This plan will not only strengthen Bentley’s Crewe production base in the UK but also enhance the Crewe region and the UK as a high-quality sustainable production hub. The investment will fundamentally redefine Crewe’s manufacturing infrastructure and is expected to secure the future of Bentley’s next-generation products and Crewe employees. The Crewe headquarters will become a ‘Dream Factory’ that creates high value through flexible production enabled by digitalization while completely minimizing environmental impact.

Bentley Motors has already upgraded the Crewe production site to the industry’s top carbon-neutral facility, having received carbon-neutral certification. The Beyond 100 Acceleration strategy and new investments are expected to form the foundation for reducing Bentley’s carbon footprint from the products themselves to the company’s overall operations. The goal is to achieve full carbon neutrality by 2030.

Bentley Motors plans to increase the number of solar panels from 30,000 to 40,000 within the next two years to expand on-site energy production at Crewe. It is also investigating ways to use sustainable biofuels for vehicles across its entire current model lineup, from the brand’s iconic heritage collection to models currently on sale.

Bentley’s supply partners also support and encourage Bentley’s goal of full carbon neutrality by 2030. They are expected to meet at least minimum sustainability standards. This initiative will also extend to Bentley’s global dealer network. Each market will strive to achieve this by 2025 or sooner.

The new Dream Factory will apply a go-to-zero approach that completely eliminates environmental impact during the manufacturing process. Having already achieved carbon-neutral production in 2019, Bentley aims to absolutely minimize water consumption, landfill waste, and other environmental impacts for all vehicles produced at Crewe by 2030.

Bentley is already leading the luxury hybrid car segment. With the launch of the Flying Spur PHEV in 2022 and the addition of five derivative models of the Bentayga PHEV to meet the diverse needs of discerning customers, Bentley will further strengthen its position. As a result, more than 20% of total sales this year are expected to be filled by Bentley’s hybrid lineup.

Adrian Hallmark, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, said, “With a ?2.5 billion investment, the Beyond 100 Acceleration strategy, and Crewe production of battery-based electric drive models, Bentley marks a significant milestone in its 102-year history. This will have a positive impact not only on our supply partners and Bentley employees but also on the automotive industry and UK manufacturing as a whole.”

He added, “Bentley’s Beyond 100 Acceleration strategy reminds us that Bentley has entered a historically important transformation phase. The global market is continuously evolving, and as a leader in the sustainable luxury mobility market, we will do our part to reduce environmental impact through carbon neutrality in line with these trends.”
