[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced on the 28th that it visited companies designated as 'Excellent R&D Innovative Products' on the 25th, toured the sites, and held a communication session with the companies.
This field visit was arranged to listen to the difficulties faced by companies designated as excellent R&D innovative products through SME research and technology development (R&D) and to encourage their efforts.
Network Korea Co., Ltd., an innovative product designated company located in Daegu Metropolitan City, developed a power collection device and solution capable of resolving the electrical safety blind spots of small business owners such as traditional market workplaces through the SME R&D support project (Industry-Academia-Research R&D).
Traditional markets and small business stores, which are vulnerable to fire, are striving to create a safe market environment, but due to aging facilities and limitations such as the lack of regular visits and measurements by experts, they remain in electrical safety blind spots. In particular, due to complex structures and narrow passages, rapid fire suppression is difficult when a fire occurs, so a solution that can diagnose various electrical safety issues in advance and prevent fires is necessary.
Accordingly, the innovative product developed by Network Korea Co., Ltd. has functions that analyze and detect abnormal power such as overload and leakage without experts, notify users, and prevent emergencies through load control and power management. Additionally, by analyzing energy efficiency, wasted power, and power usage per equipment, it recommends appropriate contracted power, enabling users to save on electricity bills and promoting carbon neutrality through energy savings from an environmental perspective.
However, Network Korea Co., Ltd. expressed difficulties on-site, stating that due to a lack of interest in excellent R&D innovative products for electrical safety and energy efficiency improvement, market development is not progressing well.
Lee Jae-hong, President of TIPA, said, "We expect that innovative products developed through SME R&D will be widely applied not only in traditional markets but also in various public sectors, serving as a stepping stone for the digital transformation of small business owners," and added, "We will continuously promote the innovative product designation system and products so that end-users such as traditional markets recognize the necessity of innovative products through changes in awareness and actively apply them."
