Busan City to Recruit 1,990 Public Officials for 25 Job Series Including Grade 9 Administrative Positions Busan City Hall.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Busan City has finalized and announced the ‘2022 Busan Metropolitan City Local Government Employee Recruitment Examination Plan.’


The city will select a total of 1,990 candidates across 25 job categories in three rounds, including 917 for the 9th grade administrative positions, 287 for the 9th grade social welfare positions, and 114 for the 8th grade nursing positions.


The total number of recruits has increased by 724 from last year to 990, reflecting the demand for workforce replenishment due to vacancies, retirements, and staffing adjustments, as well as considering the number of candidates waiting for appointment.


By rank, the recruitment includes ▲19 for 5th grade medical positions ▲15 for 7th grade administrative positions ▲114 for 8th grade nursing positions ▲917 for 9th grade administrative positions ▲287 for 9th grade social welfare positions ▲42 for 9th grade health positions ▲23 for 9th grade medical technology positions ▲212 for 9th grade facility positions ▲6 for research and guidance positions.


Additionally, to expand public service opportunities for persons with disabilities and low-income groups and to maintain a mandatory employment rate of at least 5% for persons with disabilities and 2% for low-income groups, 110 persons with disabilities and 40 low-income candidates will be recruited through separate selection.


Recruitment will primarily be conducted through open competitive examinations; however, for some research and guidance positions, technical positions, and technical high school graduate categories, career-competitive examinations will be implemented to strengthen expertise in each field.


Considering the shortage of personnel at public health centers due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the ‘1st recruitment examination’ for the 8th grade nursing positions will be held first on April 30.


On June 18, the ‘2nd recruitment examination’ will select 1,803 candidates across 18 job categories including 9th grade administrative and social welfare positions, and on October 29, the ‘3rd recruitment examination’ will select 54 candidates across 9 job categories including 7th grade administrative and research positions.


Applications can be submitted online through the local government internet application center during the following periods: ▲1st recruitment examination from February 21 to February 25 ▲2nd recruitment examination from March 21 to March 25 ▲3rd recruitment examination from July 18 to July 22.


Application fees will be waived for low-income and near-poverty applicants.


A Busan City official stated, “Final successful candidates, if they have no disqualifications for public service appointment, will work at Busan City or its autonomous districts/counties.”
