As of 9 PM, 12,410 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases (Update)

Due to the spread of Omicron, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases reached 12,410 as of 9 PM on the 26th.


According to health authorities and local governments, a total of 12,410 people tested positive for COVID-19 across 17 cities and provinces nationwide from midnight to 9 PM on this day.


The previous highest number was 9,218 cases recorded the day before. This marks an increase of 3,192 cases, setting a new record for three consecutive days.


Of the new confirmed cases, 7,849 (63.2%) were from the Seoul metropolitan area, and 4,561 (36.8%) were from non-metropolitan areas.


By city and province, the numbers are as follows: Gyeonggi 3,900, Seoul 2,960, Incheon 989, Daegu 773, Busan 720, Chungnam 518, Gyeongbuk 489, Daejeon 414, Gwangju 342, Jeonnam 294, Jeonbuk 285, Gangwon 189, Gyeongnam 150, Ulsan 142, Chungbuk 112, Sejong 78, and Jeju 55.


The number of new confirmed cases to be announced on the 27th, after the midnight tally is completed, is expected to increase further and set an all-time high.
