[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] On the 26th, the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business held an awards ceremony for outstanding subscription channels in celebration of reaching 1.5 million active subscribers of the Yellow Umbrella Fund at the Federation's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.
The ceremony, attended by chairpersons of member cooperatives and executives from online and distribution companies who contributed to achieving 1.5 million active Yellow Umbrella subscribers, proceeded with the presentation of plaques of appreciation, speeches, and a roundtable discussion.
Kim Ki-moon, president of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, expressed gratitude, saying, "I thank the member cooperatives and related companies for their efforts in establishing the Yellow Umbrella as a representative social safety net for small business owners in such a short period." He added, "We hope you will continue to strive to achieve the 2030 vision of the Yellow Umbrella: 3 million active subscribers and 40 trillion won in contributions."
The Federation currently provides services tailored to the welfare needs of 1.5 million customers through partnerships with specialized companies, including resort facilities (condominiums), movie ticket discounts, family photo support, health checkup discounts, management and tax consultations, and legal advisory services.
Going forward, the Federation plans to actively implement various welfare projects that meet customer demands by establishing legal grounds for sustainable profit-generating welfare businesses.
