[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] Song Young-gil, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, held an emergency press conference at the central party office in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 25th. Leader Song declared that he would not run in the general election, stating, "I will step down first for a change of government." Along with this, he also proposed reform measures including no nomination for by-elections in constituencies such as Jongno and institutionalizing a ban on serving more than three consecutive terms in the same district.
