'Good Samaritan Hero' Lim Young-woong Saves Driver Who Lost Consciousness in Traffic Accident

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Singer Lim Young-woong is receiving praise after it was revealed that he helped a driver involved in a traffic accident.

On the afternoon of the 21st, near Banpo Bridge on the Olympic-daero in Seoul, heading towards Yeouido, Lim Young-woong witnessed a van collide with several vehicles and crash into the guardrail. He got out of his car and helped the unconscious driver.

A representative from his agency, Fish Company, told Asia Economy on the 24th, "After finishing his schedule and on his way home, Lim Young-woong saw the traffic accident and pulled over to the shoulder. He found the driver unconscious and collapsed, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and took a blanket from the car to cover and provide emergency care."

They added, "Lim Young-woong called 119 with his mobile phone and waited until the ambulance arrived. After the injured party was transported to the hospital, he left the scene."

They continued, "Lim Young-woong was relieved to hear that the injured person regained consciousness. He said anyone who saw the scene would have done the same and that it was just a natural thing to do, feeling embarrassed that the story became public."

A representative from Seocho Fire Station stated, "We recorded the name and contact information of the man who helped with the rescue, and upon checking later, it turned out to be Lim Young-woong."

Meanwhile, Lim Young-woong debuted in 2016 with "Miwayo" and gained popularity after winning first place (Jin) on TV Chosun's audition program "Tomorrow's Mr. Trot" in March 2020. Last month, following Na Hoon-a and Shim Soo-bong, he held his third solo KBS show "We Are Hero Lim Young-woong." On the 23rd, at the 31st Seoul Music Awards, he won four awards including the Main Award, OST Award, Trot Award, and Popularity Award, continuing his hot streak.
