[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Daebo Construction has achieved over 1 trillion won in orders for two consecutive years.

Daebo Construction announced on the 24th that it secured orders worth 1.0515 trillion won last year.

It first surpassed 1 trillion won in 2017, and despite the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, it ranked 7th and 4th in public construction orders among construction companies in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

In the civil engineering sector, it secured projects such as the Seoul Subway Line 7 Cheongna International City Extension Section 3 construction and the Gunnae?Naechon local road construction. In the architectural sector, it won three comprehensive evaluation bidding projects ordered by the Ministry of National Defense and the Goyang Janghang A-1 Block Apartment Construction Section 4 project ordered by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH). In the private sector, it secured the construction project for the Gwangju Chowol Daecheong and Duwol logistics centers.

To diversify orders and strengthen capabilities, the company is actively participating in advanced procurement methods such as Construction Management at Risk (CMR) bidding. Through this, it secured projects including the Administrative City 4-2 Living Zone Joint Campus construction. Additionally, it recorded approximately 430 billion won in orders through technical bidding.

A Daebo Construction official stated, "By steadily enhancing our capabilities and leveraging strengths in the public sector such as technical bidding, we surpassed 1 trillion won in orders for two consecutive years. This year, we plan to actively pursue technical bidding like Construction Management at Risk, private participation projects with excellent feasibility, and design competition projects, while also focusing more on private development projects and urban renewal projects."
