[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The faculty and staff volunteer group of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology carried out a "Love Briquette Sharing Volunteer Activity" in the Munhyeon 1-dong area of Nam-gu on the 21st.
The volunteer activity was organized to help energy-vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone and low-income households who use briquette heating during winter to have a warm winter.
On that day, about 20 faculty and staff members visited 15 households in Munhyeon 1-dong living in alleys inaccessible by vehicles and delivered 2,000 briquettes.
The volunteer activity was conducted in strict compliance with government quarantine guidelines, including individual mask-wearing.
President Kim Young-do said, "This volunteer activity was organized to help low-income groups struggling with heating costs and other difficulties," adding, "We will continue to seek various ways to contribute to the local community."
Since its launch in 2008, the Dong-Eui Institute of Technology faculty and staff volunteer group has been conducting various social contribution activities such as supporting meal services, kimchi-making, and briquette sharing based on funds deducted from faculty and staff salaries and donations to assist low-income groups and elderly people in welfare blind spots.
