[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] K-Bank announced on the 24th that it partnered with Jung-gu Office in Seoul to deliver 'Seol Holiday Gift Packages (worth a total of 10 million KRW)' to 300 elderly residents in the Jung-gu area in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
The packages consisted of traditional foods enjoyed during the Seol holiday, such as rice cake soup rice cakes, ox bone soup, and brown rice rice snacks. All items were purchased from traditional markets within Jung-gu to promote the local economy. This initiative aims to foster coexistence with the local community, including traditional market merchants who have been struggling due to COVID-19.
Before delivering the packages, on the 21st, K-Bank employees, along with Jung-gu Mayor Seoyangho and about 20 volunteer residents, participated in packaging the gift sets at the auditorium of the Seoul Jung-gu Volunteer Center.
Using this gift package delivery as an opportunity, K-Bank will continue to collaborate with Jung-gu Office and carry out various social contribution activities. As Korea’s first internet-only bank, K-Bank plans to leverage its strengths in IT and digital finance to design meaningful social contribution initiatives.
Jang Min, Head of Management Planning at K-Bank, said, "We are pleased to be able to deliver even a small gift to our neighbors in need during the Seol holiday. We will continue to strive to carry out meaningful social contribution activities utilizing K-Bank’s strengths in IT and digital finance."
