Ahn Cheol-soo: "If I face Lee Jae-myung one-on-one, I will win by a very large margin"

Yoon Seok-yeol and Unification: "I Will Be Elected and Become a Key Player in Regime Change"
When Asked About Accepting the People Power Party's Unification Proposal,
"Would That Happen When Representative Lee Jun-seok Is So Opposed?"

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 23rd, Ahn Cheol-soo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, dismissed the possibility of unification with Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, saying, "I ran to be elected and to become the main figure in regime change."

On the same day, before holding an event for independent provincial councilors joining the party at the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council in Changwon City, Gyeongsangnam-do, Ahn was asked by reporters about his stance on unification with Yoon. He said, "As you can see from various opinion polls, if it becomes a one-on-one contest between me and the Democratic Party's Lee Jae-myung, I can win by a large margin. Even Democratic Party supporters back me."

He added, "If it becomes a one-on-one contest between Yoon and Lee, it will be almost even or very close," and said, "Many experts say that if such a result comes out, the ruling party has too many means at its disposal, such as secret information or money, so the opposition is likely to lose in the election."

Ahn said, "I think citizens say 'Anilhwa' (unification under Ahn Cheol-soo) because they know that," emphasizing, "I will steadily walk my path for regime change."

When asked if he would respond if the People Power Party first proposed unification, he retorted, "The current leader (Lee Jun-seok) is so opposed that such a thing would hardly happen."
