Yoon Bong-geun's "Gwangsan Must Live for Honam to Live" Publication Celebration Successfully Held

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The publication celebration of Yoon Bong-geun, a National Communication Committee member of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development and former chairman of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council, who is preparing to run for the Gwangsan District Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City in the nationwide local elections this June, was successfully held as an event with the residents.

However, considering the social atmosphere due to COVID-19 and the Gwangju apartment collapse accident, all festive events were omitted and the ceremony was held simply.

Assemblymen Song Gap-seok, Lee Yong-bin, and Min Hyung-bae attended and gave congratulatory speeches, and the encouragement and warm support speeches from current district mayor Kim Sam-ho greatly lifted the atmosphere.

Former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, National Assembly members Woo Won-shik and Lee Won-wook, Chungnam Province Governor Yang Seung-jo, and former Blue House Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Kang Ki-jung sent video congratulatory messages to support and encourage the event.

At the publication celebration, the book 'Gwangsan Must Live for Honam to Live' written by Committee member Yoon was introduced.

As a native of Gwangsan District, the book was written after thoroughly exploring the region and contains messages of support from youth, disabled persons, small business owners, multicultural communities, corporations, and labor sectors, along with the author's determination to devote all efforts to the development of his hometown Gwangsan.

Committee member Yoon said, "I am not at ease holding this event during such a difficult time due to the social atmosphere," adding, "I will take this as an opportunity to look once more at our neighbors."
