[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] It is the leap of Shane Lowry (Ireland), the 2019 champion.

On the night of the 22nd (Korean time) at Yas Links in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) (par 72, 7,425 yards), the third day of the DP World Tour (European Tour) 'Rolex Series Round 1' Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship (total prize money $8 million), Lowry shot 5 under par to rise to a tie for 2nd place (10 under par, 206 strokes). Thomas Pieters (Belgium) joined this group. Scott Jamieson (Scotland) is leading with 11 under par (205 strokes).

Lowry started from a tie for 6th place, 2 strokes behind, and showed flawless play with 5 birdies and no bogeys. He reduced 2 strokes with birdies on the 2nd hole (par 5) and 5th hole in the front nine, and in the back nine, he added birdies on the 12th hole (par 4) and consecutive birdies on the 15th and 16th holes. He is 1 stroke behind the leader and has a chance to aim for his 6th win on the European Tour. Lowry has fond memories of winning this tournament in 2019. He also made a name for himself by winning the major Open Championship that same year. His world ranking is 48th.

Jamieson maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard for the third consecutive day by shooting 4 under par. He is a player who won his only victory at the Nelson Mandela Championship in December 2012. "There are many good winners, so I still have a long way to go," he said, adding, "I will focus on my shots tomorrow as well." 'Taekwondo Man' Viktor Hovland (Norway) reduced 2 strokes with 4 birdies and 2 bogeys. He is currently in a tie for 4th place, 3 strokes behind (8 under par, 208 strokes), looking for a comeback.

Ian Poulter and James Morrison (both England) are tied for 6th place (7 under par, 209 strokes), and Adam Scott (Australia) is tied for 9th place (6 under par, 210 strokes). Defending champion Tyrrell Hatton (England) and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) are tied for 28th place (2 under par, 214 strokes), while Tommy Fleetwood (England), who won back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018, is tied for 54th place (2 over par, 218 strokes). World No. 2 Collin Morikawa (USA) is also in this group.
