Company-wide Port Marketing Activities Launched to Generate Cargo Volume
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun) announced on the 21st that all executives and employees, led by the new President Park Seong-hyun, will engage in port marketing activities.
The authority set a goal of "one shipping company, one new route" and this month directly visited major domestic shipping companies such as HMM, Korea Marine Transport, Janggeum Shipping, and Daehan Shipping to conduct on-site marketing targeting their executives.
In particular, President Park accompanied the on-site marketing efforts to explain the excellence of Gwangyang Port, an industrial hub, to the shipping companies and requested the establishment of new routes.
Additionally, to seek countermeasures for the low growth phase of cargo volume, the authority plans to hold a seminar in Busan in February, inviting experts in the shipping, port, and logistics sectors.
The authority explained that starting with this shipping company marketing, they will actively launch on-site marketing based on CEO visits to major shipping companies in Seoul and Busan, as well as sales activities involving all employees.
President Park Seong-hyun expressed his ambition, stating, "In the low growth phase of cargo volume and fierce competition among ports, we will expand sales functions targeting port users and develop the port into one that can compete with the world's leading ports by providing the fastest and most convenient port services."
