Solve It On Site! ... Dongmyung University Holds 2021 TU-Living Lab Performance Presentation and Awards Ceremony A representative from Dongmyung University and the 2021 TU-Living Lab awardees are taking a group commemorative photo.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] At the performance presentation where university students actively engage in the field to identify and solve various real social issues or support marketing activities for small business owners, the Dongmyeong Hearing Volunteer Team won the grand prize.


The volunteer team received the grand prize among 35 participating teams for conducting hearing volunteer activities for local senior citizens.


Dongmyeong University held the 2021 TU-Living Lab performance presentation and awards ceremony on the 19th at the university's Kang Seok-jin Start-up Village.


The grand prize was awarded to the Dongmyeong Hearing Volunteer Team, which conducted hearing volunteer activities for local elderly people.


The excellence awards went to ▲ Dr.Kinetic, which conducted joint function checkups and corrective exercise guidance for modern people affected by long-term social distancing, and ▲ the Modori Team, which provided literacy education for adults with developmental disabilities.


The encouragement awards were given to ▲ Good Voice Season 3 Team, which evaluated, treated, and provided preventive education on voice problems for daycare teachers in Busan, ▲ Generation Sympathy Team, which conducted digital tutoring for the silver generation, ▲ Child Abuse Prevention Team, which implemented puppet show education to prevent child abuse, and ▲ Almond Team, which developed lunchboxes for the elderly.


The grand prize for TU-Living Lab's marketing support for small business owners was awarded to ▲ Play Busan Team, which built promotional content for small business owners.


Dongmyeong University's extracurricular living lab is a public-private-people partnerships fusion activity that goes beyond the campus fence to explore real society, identify problems, and propose solutions.


Participating students to date include ▲ 28 students in 6 teams in 2018, ▲ 131 students in 24 teams in 2019, and ▲ 172 students in 29 teams in 2020.


Since April last year, the Dongmyeong University LINC+ Project Group Regional Community Collaboration Center has supported TU-Living Lab activities of 176 students in 35 teams across seven fields: ▲ tourism, ▲ education, ▲ environment, ▲ health, ▲ safety, ▲ welfare, and ▲ marketing support for small business owners, for about eight months.


Jung Kyu-young, head of the Regional Community Collaboration Center, said, “The students gained great confidence by identifying and directly solving problems faced by local residents.”
