Hyundai Motor Securities Completes Robot Process Automation Implementation..."Expanding Work Automation"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Hyundai Motor Securities announced on the 20th that it has completed the Robot Process Automation (RPA) construction project as part of building a digital work environment, expanding the automation scope to a total of 35 tasks across 13 departments. RPA is a technology that automates simple, repetitive tasks that occur frequently using robot software to process them quickly and accurately.

Hyundai Motor Securities has been planning new projects every year and carrying out RPA task automation projects since starting the RPA Pilot in 2019. Through this project, which has been ongoing since 2021, the existing attended bot (executed directly by a person on a PC) system was upgraded to an unattended bot system. They focused more on improving efficiency through new functions such as robot team leader roles.

In addition to automating tasks such as funds and retirement pensions, automation has been expanded to the security area as well, automating inspections and updates, thereby strengthening the increasingly important financial security sector.

Hyundai Motor Securities stated, "With the expansion of RPA tasks through this project, we expect an efficiency improvement of over 4,000 hours annually." Going forward, they plan to integrate new digital technologies such as chatbots, AI-based text recognition solutions, and big data collection to broaden the range of tasks applicable to RPA within the company.

A new category was created in the internal groupware to share RPA-related information and allow employees to apply for RPA task development. Accordingly, it is expected that more employees will take an interest in RPA and that the scope of automated tasks will expand through various suggestions regarding new robot automation replacement tasks.

Park Cheolmin, Head of the Business Technology (BT) Division (Executive Director) at Hyundai Motor Securities, said, "When robots work for employees, they will experience many changes in high value-added areas such as digital innovation within the company," adding, "We will build an employee-friendly digital work environment through continuous business process improvements."

Hyundai Motor Securities, the first small- to medium-sized securities firm in the industry to receive the main license for MyData, is accelerating its digital transformation business by preparing to open under the brand The Herb in February.
