[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is temporarily implementing a support project to assist disabled students in the district who cannot use elementary, middle, and high schools due to the winter vacation, in order to fill the care gap by helping with their external activities.
According to Nam-gu on the 20th, the winter vacation activity support worker project for users of disability activity support will continue until February.
The support targets are students receiving activity support benefits who are enrolled in elementary, middle, or high school, excluding those using care classrooms operated by schools.
It is understood that there are 155 disabled students receiving activity support benefits in Nam-gu, and special benefits for winter vacation activity support will be additionally provided to students who need activity support workers for external activities.
The additional support amount is 297,000 KRW.
Disabled students can use this support fund to receive visiting care through activity support workers (hourly wage 14,850 KRW) within a total of 20 hours until the end of the winter vacation, including external activities such as hospital visits, without any personal expense.
However, the additional special benefit can only be used within 20 hours before the winter vacation of the school the support target is enrolled in ends.
Applications for using the winter vacation activity support workers for disabled students can be submitted by the individual or a proxy by visiting the local administrative welfare center of their address jurisdiction with a social security benefit application form and a certificate of enrollment attached.
