KakaoBank, First Customer Event for Open Banking Registration

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] KakaoBank announced on the 20th that it will hold an event for customers using the open banking service for the first time.

KakaoBank plans to provide chicken sets to 3,000 customers selected by lottery who register an account from another financial institution under their name for the first time through the open banking service from the 20th to the 31st.

Customers who are not using the KakaoBank open banking service can participate in the event by registering an account from another financial institution through the 'Start Open Banking' button on the event page within the KakaoBank mobile app.

The KakaoBank open banking service allows users to view accounts from other financial institutions registered through the open banking service alongside their KakaoBank account on the app's home screen. Real-time account balance information is also available.

Additionally, by pressing the 'Transfer' button located to the right of the open banking account on the home screen, users can transfer funds directly to KakaoBank or other financial institution accounts.

On payday, users can conveniently manage their finances by transferring their salary deposited into other financial institution accounts to KakaoBank or other financial institutions for living expenses, card payments, and more directly from the KakaoBank app's main screen.

When registering open banking accounts, there is no need to manually enter individual financial institution account numbers. Multiple accounts can be viewed and easily registered at once through Account Info, the integrated account information management service of the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute.
