[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] On Thursday the 20th, the whole country will be mostly clear, but Gangwon Yeongdong, the eastern coast of Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island will be mostly cloudy until the afternoon.

Since the previous day, more than 20 cm of snow is forecast to accumulate in Gangwon Yeongdong, and 5 to 15 cm in the northern eastern coast of Gyeongbuk, the northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk, and the mountainous areas of Jeju Island.

In particular, very heavy snow of over 7 cm per hour is expected in Gangwon Yeongdong and the northern eastern coast of Gyeongbuk.

On the southern eastern coast of Gyeongbuk, 1 to 5 cm of snow or about 5 mm of rain will fall, and in southern Gangwon Yeongseo, southeastern inland Chungnam, Jeonbuk, and northern Jeonnam, 1 to 3 cm of snow or less than 5 mm of rain is expected.

Additionally, in central and northern Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungbuk, inland Gyeongbuk, western inland Gyeongnam, and Jeju Island, about 1 cm of snow or less than 1 mm of rain is forecast. Snow flurries will occur in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungnam region, southern Jeonnam, southern inland Gyeongbuk, inland Gyeongnam, and Ulsan.

The morning low temperatures will range from -14 to -2 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs will be between 0 and 8 degrees Celsius.

Fine dust levels will be 'Good' to 'Moderate' across all regions, but the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon, Yeongseo, Sejong, Chungbuk, and Daegu will temporarily experience 'Unhealthy' levels in the morning.

In areas where rain or snow falls, there may be slippery spots due to icy roads or black ice, so special caution is required for traffic safety and pedestrian safety.

Also, very strong winds and high waves are expected across all seas, so ships engaged in navigation or fishing should exercise caution.

Sea waves will be 1.5 to 5.0 meters in the East Sea nearshore, 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea nearshore, and 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the South Sea nearshore.

Wave heights in the offshore seas (about 200 km from the coastline) are expected to be 2.0 to 5.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 4.0 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the South Sea.
