[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Doosan announced on the 19th that it will additionally acquire 18,222,047 shares of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, an affiliate in the other machinery and turbine manufacturing industry, for approximately 291.6 billion KRW.
After acquiring the shares, Doosan's stake in Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction will be 36.9%. The scheduled date for the stock acquisition is the 18th of next month.
Doosan stated that the purpose of this stock acquisition is "to enhance the corporate value of the affiliate and maintain control."
