[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Shinhan Financial Investment announced on the 19th that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Yonsei University Biohealth Technology Holding Company.
Yonsei University Biohealth Technology Holding Company was established in October 2021 as the first of its kind in Korea, approved by the Ministry of Education through Yonsei University Medical Center. As an industry-academia-research cooperation technology holding company, it aims to establish and nurture subsidiaries and sub-subsidiaries specialized in the biohealth field and to build a virtuous cycle structure for biohealth research and development at the university.
Through this MOU, Shinhan Financial Investment will provide financial advisory services and comprehensive consulting for subsidiaries and arrange various investments in the future. The two companies plan to collaborate on building a corporate ecosystem in the bio sector.
Lee Young-chang, CEO of Shinhan Financial Investment, stated, “We expect to create various achievements by combining Shinhan Financial Investment’s differentiated asset management know-how with the excellent technology of the Biohealth Technology Holding Company,” and added, “We hope this MOU will contribute to the growth of both companies.”
