[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 19th that it has launched the ‘Kleenex Bubble Bubble Hand Wash Eco Green Herb,’ developed with the goal of reducing water pollution.
This product features a biodegradable formula that decomposes in water after washing, minimizing water pollution.
The Eco Green Herb hand wash underwent biodegradability testing according to the aquatic environment biodegradability evaluation standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The results proved that it biodegrades over 90% within 42 days under conditions of 20~25℃. This exceeds the legal biodegradability requirement of 70% for laundry detergents.
The packaging uses bio PET containing 30% sugarcane-derived materials, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 28% compared to the company’s existing PET containers.
A Yuhan-Kimberly representative said, “We hope this new product, created to embody the company’s vision of acting for the global environment, will meet the expectations of consumers who value both the planet and health.”
Yuhan-Kimberly aims to achieve a sales ratio of over 95% for products using sustainable raw materials by 2030 and continues to introduce products such as the biodegradable certified sanitary pad Laneature Signature Maxislim, Huggies Naturemade made with sugarcane-derived biomass materials, and Kleenex Eco Green wet tissues made with plastic-free fabric.
