KT&G to Reopen 'Sangsangmadang Cinema' on the 25th

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] KT&G will open the newly renovated 'Sangsangmadang Cinema' on the 25th. KT&G Sangsangmadang has been renewing its cinema facilities in response to COVID-19, and through subsequent facility improvements and program restructuring, it has reestablished the foundation for supporting the film sector.

Sangsangmadang Cinema will be reborn as a ‘community cinema’ where all film lovers can communicate together. Additionally, Sangsangmadang plans to continue supporting the revitalization of the independent film industry while presenting various film programs that bring audiences closer.

There will also be focused support programs for independent and art filmmakers. Sangsangmadang plans to help filmmakers’ practical growth through free weekday rental of screening spaces, film classes and mentoring, networking and workshops, and support for film clubs. Furthermore, through Sangsangmadang’s flagship program, the ‘Daedanhan Short Film Festival,’ it will continue to discover independent films filled with creative imagination.
