[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Shinsegae Food's No Brand Burger's 'Brand Cola' and 'Brand Cider' have surpassed 1 million cumulative sales within a month of their launch.
According to Shinsegae Food on the 19th, No Brand Burger's 'Brand Cola' and 'Brand Cider', launched on the 14th of last month, have been sold at an average of about 30,000 units per day across more than 170 stores nationwide, exceeding 1 million cumulative sales in just one month.
Shinsegae Food attributes this sales volume to the unique names and designs of 'Brand Cola' and 'Brand Cider', which differentiate them from existing carbonated drinks and have resonated mainly with the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) who seek both consumption and fun. Additionally, the fact that these drinks can only be enjoyed at No Brand Burger stores aligns well with the MZ generation's preference for unique experiences, which is considered one of the reasons for their popularity.
The marketing also attracted attention. The YouTube video released by Shinsegae Food featuring broadcaster Yoo Byungjae and rapper Raewon to promote 'Brand Cola' and 'Brand Cider' surpassed 1 million views within a week of its release. Furthermore, on social networking services (SNS) such as Instagram and Facebook, more than 100 posts including 인증샷 (proof shots) and reviews enjoying 'Brand Cola' and 'Brand Cider' are uploaded weekly, gradually spreading word of mouth.
Shinsegae Food has started developing merchandise utilizing the stylish design elements of 'Brand Cola' and 'Brand Cider' and is preparing additional digital marketing activities. They are also considering developing new designs that expand on the existing product design elements.
A Shinsegae Food official said, “We are focusing on providing a unique brand experience that can only be experienced at No Brand Burger through Brand Cola and Brand Cider,” adding, “As consumption trends emphasizing value, fun, and experience are spreading recently, we plan to continuously introduce various food content that resonates with consumers.”
