[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The hearing for the injunction case filed by Kim Gun-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, against the YouTube channel 'Yeollin Gonggam TV' to prohibit the reporting of her phone conversation with Lee Myung-soo, a reporter from Seoul Voice, will be held on the 19th.
According to the legal community on the 18th, the Civil Division 50 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Song Kyung-geun) will conduct the hearing for Kim's injunction request to prohibit broadcasting and distribution against Yeollin Gonggam TV at 2:30 p.m. on the 19th.
The People Power Party filed an injunction request on the 14th at the Seoul Central District Court to prevent Seoul Voice, Yeollin Gonggam TV, and others from reporting the recorded phone call between Kim and Lee, which lasted seven hours. The lawsuit against Seoul Voice was transferred to the Seoul Southern District Court, and the hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. on the 20th.
Meanwhile, when the MBC current affairs program 'Exploratory Planning Straight' announced its intention to broadcast the phone conversation obtained from Lee, Kim filed an injunction request to prohibit the broadcast, but the court did not accept it. The court permitted the broadcast of parts excluding investigation-related or private conversation sections. Some of the phone conversation between the two was aired on the 16th.
Seoul Voice and Yeollin Gonggam TV disclosed parts of the phone conversation that MBC 'Straight' did not broadcast on their YouTube channels on the 17th.
After the broadcast, the People Power Party filed a complaint with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office against the MBC Straight production team for violating the Public Official Election Act. Baek Eun-jong, CEO of Seoul Voice, Lee, and PD Jung from Yeollin Gonggam TV also decided to file criminal complaints with the police.
