Focused Checks on Illegal Buildings, Maintenance of Safety Facilities, Operation of Evacuation Equipment, and Compliance with Legal Standards
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 18th that it will conduct safety inspections targeting 16 multi-use facilities such as traditional markets and large marts, where many residents are expected to gather, until the 26th.
This inspection was prepared to raise awareness about the management of various facilities and to check for potential accident risks in advance.
In particular, through an inspection team composed of experts in architecture, electricity, and firefighting, they will check ▲ wiring defects, operation of leakage circuit breakers ▲ maintenance status of electrical and mechanical rooms ▲ securing of evacuation routes, replacement of fire extinguishers, and other safety management conditions ▲ compliance with legal standards and safety. They will also verify fire risks and structural safety of neglected or blind-spot facilities.
Buk-gu plans to immediately correct minor issues on-site according to the inspection results and continuously manage serious issues.
