In the weekly official golf world ranking announced on the afternoon of the 17th (Korean time), he received 1.59 points and soared 43 places from 132nd last week to 89th. He accumulated points by winning the Asian Tour Singapore International held at Tanamera Golf Club in Singapore the day before. He was the youngest triple crown winner in the 2021 season of the Korean Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA). Last year, in 14 Korean Tour events, he swept the prize money, the grand prize, and the lowest average score by winning the SK Telecom Open in June and finishing second three times.


Sony Open champion Matsuyama jumped straight to 10th place, and Russell Henley, who lost in a playoff, also took consolation by rising from 56th to 40th. Jon Rahm (Spain) remains in 1st place, with Collin Morikawa still chasing in 2nd. Dustin Johnson, Patrick Cantlay, and Justin Thomas (all from the United States) remain unchanged in the ‘Top 5’. In Korea, ‘Shriners Champion’ Im Sung-jae (24) is ranked 25th, Kim Si-woo (27) 55th, and Lee Kyung-hoon (31) 64th.
