[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The driver who hit pedestrians crossing the crosswalk in front of Yonsei University, injuring them, has been sent to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 17th, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul referred a man in his 50s, Mr. A, to the prosecution last month on charges of violating pedestrian protection duties, after he hit six pedestrians while driving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in front of Yonsei University at around 6:14 PM on September 23 last year.
At the time, the six pedestrians sustained moderate to minor injuries. It was reported that Mr. A mistakenly pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake. Investigations confirmed that he was not under the influence of alcohol.
