[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Changwon City in Gyeongnam Province signed a 'Local Joint Education Agreement for Fostering Youth Historical Awareness' with the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education on the 17th.

This agreement was established to jointly educate students by the city and the Office of Education about the proud democratization movement history of our region, which greatly contributed to the development of democracy in the Republic of Korea, in order to inherit and develop the democratization spirit originating from the '3·15 Uprising' to the next generation.

According to the agreement, both organizations will build a cooperative system for joint planning and promotion of democratization movement history education, human and material support, mutual exchange, and other related matters.

Prior to the agreement, the city has been promoting the '3·15 Uprising Origin Memorial Hall,' which opened in October last year, as a place for democratization movement history education, encouraging youth to visit and experience the history of the democratization movement.

This agreement is expected to help students systematically observe the democratization movement history in connection with the curriculum, thereby aiding historical learning.

The city has produced and distributed a customized learning material titled 'The 3·15 Uprising Completed in One Book' for youth visitors and is preparing a guided tour program for students during vacation periods to welcome them.

Mayor Heo Seong-mu said, "Taking this agreement as an opportunity, we will spare no support so that students in our region can learn the history of the democratization movement and inherit its great spirit."
