[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] AP Technology is expanding its overseas presence by consecutively obtaining global certifications.
On the 17th, AP Technology announced that it had obtained kosher certification for Mamstamin from the Orthodox Union. The Orthodox Union is the world's largest kosher certification organization and holds high credibility in the market.
Kosher is a term derived from the Hebrew word "kasher," meaning "proper," referring to foods permitted for consumption according to the Jewish dietary laws called "kashrut." Especially due to the thorough hygiene inspections conducted during the certification process, kosher-approved products are generally recognized as "clean and safe foods."
The global food industry estimates the kosher market size to be over $250 billion (approximately 297 trillion KRW). Although the Jewish population, the primary consumers of kosher food, is only about 13 million, demand for kosher food is high across Christian cultural countries.
Jinsook Kim, Global Marketing Team Leader at AP Technology, said, "As interest in food safety-related certifications such as halal and kosher increases in the global market, we will accelerate sales activation based on these certifications. We will strive to lead in securing various certifications and approvals to increase exports."
AP Technology, established in 2001, is a company that developed breast milk oligosaccharide production technology using an internationally patented bio-method. It completed a breast milk oligosaccharide production plant with an annual capacity of 100 tons in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, and plans to expand both domestically and internationally in the future.
