[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Asiana Airlines announced on the 17th that it will resume flights to Hawaii starting April 3.
Asiana Airlines stated that it will gradually resume flights on the Hawaii route three times a week in response to the increasing travel demand trend. This marks the resumption of flights after two years since the suspension in March 2020 due to the spread of COVID-19.
The Asiana Airlines flight from Incheon to Hawaii departs Incheon Airport at 8:20 PM and arrives at Honolulu Airport at 10:10 AM local time. The return flight departs at 11:50 AM local time and arrives back at Incheon Airport at 5:10 PM the following day.
Documents required for entry into Hawaii include a completed COVID-19 vaccination certificate in English and a negative COVID-19 test result (PCR or rapid antigen test, both valid) taken within one day prior to departure to the United States. Upon submission of these documents, travelers can enter without quarantine. For return to Korea after traveling to Hawaii (for arrivals from January 20), a negative PCR test result taken within 48 hours prior to departure must be presented.
To commemorate the resumption of flights, Asiana Airlines is also holding a discount ticket event offering discounts of up to 300,000 KRW. From 9 AM on the 19th until the 28th, the airline will sell round-trip tickets to Hawaii for 860,000 KRW (including fuel surcharge) to the first 200 customers on a first-come, first-served basis.
Asiana Airlines stated, "We will monitor market trends and consider increasing flights to once daily starting in July."
