[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, announced on the 16th that "continuous glucose monitors will be covered by health insurance for patients with gestational diabetes and adult diabetes."

On the same day, Candidate Yoon revealed this promise as the 12th pledge in his 'Seok-yeol's Heart-Throbbing Promise' series. Currently, health insurance coverage for continuous glucose monitors is limited to patients with type 1 diabetes, leaving gestational diabetes and adult diabetes (type 2) patients without support.

Yoon's campaign stated, "We will extend health insurance coverage for continuous glucose monitors to gestational diabetes and adult diabetes patients," adding, "We plan to reduce the financial burden of blood sugar management for diabetes patients."
