Jeon Seung-il, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Steps Up to Manage Traffic Accident Witnessed by Chance

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] A local council member in the Gwangju area has attracted attention for actively stepping in to manage a traffic accident scene he happened to witness instead of passing by.

The protagonist is Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council.

On the 14th at around 3:12 PM, while driving his car on a road in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Councilor Jeon witnessed a collision between a delivery motorcycle and a large van.

He immediately pulled over to the shoulder, went to the accident scene, called 119 to request emergency dispatch, checked the condition of the motorcycle driver, moved him to a safe place, and helped him rest.

Afterwards, he also guided the van driver to move to a safe location, wrapped up the situation at the accident scene, and then left.

Councilor Jeon Seung-il said, "I am very relieved that the motorcycle driver was not seriously injured," and added, "I was just a passing citizen doing what anyone would do, not acting in my capacity as a council member."
