One Missing Person Rescued After 37 Hours in Gwangju Collapse Accident 'Declared Dead'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] One missing person at the site of the newly built apartment collapse accident in Gwangju was rescued four days after the accident but ultimately died.


According to the search authorities on the 14th, one missing person was rescued at around 6:49 PM, but was pronounced dead at the hospital to which they were transported.


The missing person was rescued in a state of cardiac arrest and was immediately taken to the hospital for necessary treatment.


The rescued missing person’s location was identified near the basement level 1 stairs at 11:14 AM the previous day, but due to debris such as concrete piles, the rescue operation proceeded slowly, and they were rescued 37 hours after being found.
